Tim and Jameson
Dog's Approx. Birth Year: 2005
Dog's Most Favorite Thing: Chasing the neighbors riding on their ATV’s, taking long rides in the car with Dad.
Dog's Least Favorite Thing: Sleeping in a crate at night.
"Sorry, I can’t hear you, there’s a human petting me right now!"
Jameson is the poster child for rescue. He originates from Iowa. Fortunately for Jameson, there were some friendly human neighbors who saw him left in a kennel with a Shitzu, with no food and no water. After several weeks of him receiving no attention from his “owner”, the neighbors provided him with some food and water and called the humane society. It turned out that his owner was a less than an upstanding citizen, so shortly after he was sent to rescue, he was transported out of state: first to Wisconsin, and then to Minnesota (to ARLP).
The first time I met Jameson he was afraid of men. He cowered when I tried to pet him, and let me know this was not a situation he enjoyed. Sadly I had met many dogs before who could not overcome past human transgressions, but Jameson was different.
To say his turnaround was miraculous is an understatement. Within a week, Jameson and I were the best of friends, never to be separated again. He is the epitome of man’s best friend. In our time together he has yet to meet a human or dog he doesn’t want to be friends with.
Describe your dog in one paragraph:
Jameson is quite literally the sweetest dog you’ll ever meet. When he’s not too busy conning you into playing a game with him, he’s chilling in the corner loving life. If you’re feeling down, he’ll be there to cheer you up. If you’re afraid of dogs, he’ll "force" you to change your mind. 85 lbs? Sounds like a lap dog to me!
